Understanding Seams Strength of a Protective Suit

Seams strength for a protective suit is the strength of a sewn seam by applying a force perpendicular when seam finally ruptures. Seams can be a complicated technology, but it is key to understand the different type of seams to know more about the level of protection a protective suit can offer. With seams strength, come seam performance. It depends on structural and mechanical properties of the fabric and strength, durability, appearance, and efficiency of the seams.

There are different types of seams that are suitable for use in protective suits. They differ from non-protective seams due to their mechanical strength and their ability to prevent various substances from bypassing the protective suit through gaps in the clothing seam or through degradation of seam integrity.
