Top of the line hazmat suits providing protection against aggressive chemicals in all forms
1 February - Iselin, NJ - Ansell, a global leader in protection solutions and leading manufacturer of chemical protective apparel, announces that its TRELLCHEM® EVO and TRELLCHEM® VPS FLASH protective suits are both certified in accordance with the recently published NFPA 1991 standard, including the optional flash fire and liquefied gas testing.
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) is a global nonprofit organization, established in 1896, devoted to eliminating death, injury, property and economic loss due to fire, electrical and related hazards. The revised NFPA 1991 standard became effective on December 4, 2016, and provides requirements for protection for emergency responders against adverse vapor environments during hazardous materials incidents, and from specified chemical, biological, or radiological terrorism agents during chemical and biological terrorism incidents. After this date, manufacturers were no longer permitted to manufacture and sell vapor-protective ensembles certified to the 2005 edition. In fact, any suit manufactured to the old standard that is still in stock with the manufacturer must now have all certification labels removed and cannot claim any compliance to NFPA standards.
