Manufacturer is first to test and design single-use gloves that maximize productivity by minimizing worker hand fatigue and discomfort
29 September 2015 – Iselin, NJ – Ansell, a global leader in protective solutions, introduces today at the National Safety Council Congress & Expo ERGOFORM Ergonomic Design Technology, a technology that enables Ansell to test and design single-use gloves that maximize worker productivity by minimizing hand fatigue and discomfort. Ansell gloves designed with ERGOFORM are strategically engineered to deliver high-performance musculoskeletal support and reduce the risk of ergonomic injury caused by prolonged or repetitive manual tasks. Ansell is the first single-use glove manufacturer to apply ergonomic testing and design to its products.
ERGOFORM design technology is available on four glove styles, including Microflex® XCEED®, Microflex Neogard®, TouchNTuff® 73-300 and TouchNTuff 73-500, with additional products joining the line-up in 2016. This diverse portfolio is suited for use across a wide variety of industries where workers perform repetitious tasks that require manual dexterity.
Expo show attendees can have a detailed look at gloves featuring ERGOFORM at Ansell booth #2122. Additionally, attendees can experience the benefit of ergonomically designed gloves for themselves via Ansell’s ERGOFORM Virtual Glove Experience, an in-booth interactive virtual experience that allows users to see potential strain and fatigue on muscles, tendons and nerves due to hand movements and repetitive motions.
“Occupational musculoskeletal disorders, such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and tendonitis, are a leading cause of lost workday injury and illness,” said Joe Kubicek, President and General Manager of the Ansell Single Use Global Business Unit. “Gloves designed with ERGOFORM are proven through testing to reduce strenuous muscle effort that may lead to joint, tendon or ligament strain. We are excited to offer this breakthrough, which supports worker health and productivity.”
With ERGOFORM, Ansell applies knowledge of typical muscle use in common tasks, and designs gloves that strategically enhance fit, feel, tactility and support for workers. Gloves are tested and evaluated in state-of-the-art ergonomics laboratories. To receive certification, they must prove they provide measurable advantages to user comfort and long-term hand and arm muscle health. Laboratory tests show that gloves designed with ERGOFORM markedly reduce muscle effort in performing certain tasks as compared to competitive products and, in some cases, even bare-handed operations.
ERGOFORM Ergonomic Design Technology underscores the dedication of Ansell to improving worker experience through innovative glove design, processing and manufacturing methods.
