29 November 2019 - Ansell Limited (ASX:ANN), a global leader in safety protection solutions, announces the appointment of Mr. Nigel Garrard as an independent non-executive Director to the Ansell Limited Board, with effect on 1 March 2020.

Mr. Garrard has also been invited to become a member of the Sustainability & Risk Committee and the Human Resources Committee.

Mr. Garrard’s appointment is another part of the Board’s succession plan announced in 2017 and fills the vacancy on the Board that will arise upon the retirement of Non-Executive Director, Mrs. Marissa Peterson, at the 2020 Annual General Meeting.

Mr. Garrard is an experienced executive who has held senior roles with Australian and international companies. Most recently, Nigel was the Chief Executive Officer of Orora Limited, an ASX 100 listed entity. Mr. Garrard led the demerger of Orora from Amcor, and subsequent listing on the ASX in 2013. Prior to 2013, Mr. Garrard was Amcor’s President of the Australasia and Packing Distribution business group. Nigel has also held senior management roles at Coca-Cola Amatil, SPC Ardmona and Chiquita Brands International. Mr. Garrard brings a broad range of general management experience across different geographies and industries.

Mr. Garrard holds a Bachelors’ Degree of Economics from the University of Adelaide and is a Chartered Accountant.
