Disadvantages of PVC Dotted Gloves

The history of protective gloves dates back thousands of years, with early iterations made from natural materials including leather or animal hide. Over time the same cut and sew techniques used for early leather glove manufacture were applied to other textiles.

The development of knitted fabrics had delivered many advantages including a product that offered increased comfort, dexterity, flexibility and breathability. Despite the obvious advantages, knitted fabrics also presented limitations. Dotted knitted gloves are generally constructed from a cotton or poly/cotton blend, featuring PVC dots intended to improve grip. However, contrary to the intention, PVC dots provide little grip improvement as the actual surface contact with tools and parts is limited.

As there are many hand protection solutions available, it is important to work with a vendor that can help identify the suitable choice for your application.
