Introduction of new chemical regulations

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE REGULATORY UPDATES

From April 2024, the introduction of new chemical substance regulations have become mandatory.

  1. The number of substances subject to mandatory risk assessment will increase significantly.
  2. Based on the risk assessment, it is mandatory to keep the exposure concentration of workers below the standard value.
  3. Workers who manufacture and handle chemical substances are required to use appropriate protective equipment.
  4. The appointment of a chemical substance manager and the creation and preservation of records such as risk assessment results are required.

SITUATIONS WHERE PROTECTION IS LOST

Image of chemical permeation at the molecular level

PERMEATION

The movement of chemicals at the molecular level when they pass through a barrier material. The rate at which a chemical permeates is called the 'breakthrough time' and is expressed as protection time (in minutes).

DETERIORATION

A physical change in one or more properties of a barrier material upon contact with a chemical. Indicators include visible discoloration, stretching and surface burns or cracks.

PENETRATION

Chemicals migrate through pores, seams, needle holes and imperfections in the barrier material, typically caused by defects or deterioration.

* Due to the revision of the Industrial Safety and Health Act (mandatory in April 2024), inquiries are currently increasing rapidly.
If there are a large number of inquiries about drugs, if the sender address is not a company domain but a free email, or if there is insufficient information in the designated fields for company information, please wait until the report is created. It may take some time, or in some cases, you may not be able to submit the report.
