Ansell announced Net Zero operations (Scope 1&2) by 2040. This commitment involves changing Ansell's reliance on fossil fuels and improving Ansell's energy management systems. By joining the Climate Group's RE100 and EP100 initiatives, Ansell is aligning its commitments with the missions of these initiatives. - RE100’s mission is to accelerate change towards zero carbon electricity grids globally by 2040. Ansell commits to sourcing 100% renewable electricity across its entire operations by 2040, with an interim target of 60% by 2030.
- EP100 aims to accelerate energy efficiency through energy smart businesses. Ansell will implement Energy Management Systems (ISO50001) at all plants over the next 5 years, which includes driving plant-wide awareness and senior management accountability on efficient practices for carbon reduction.
Ansell’s Net Zero goal relies on a minimal degree of offsetting, as Ansell has committed to the more complex path of reducing actual emissions at its operations. Ansell is working to ensure that targets set are aligned with global climate ambitions and leading initiatives.
