Ansell’s 2024 Sustainability and Labour Rights Reports – Now Available!

We are excited to announce the release of Ansell’s 2024 Sustainability and Labour Rights Reports. These reports showcase the remarkable progress we've made over the past 12 months in enhancing our sustainability practices and labour rights worldwide.

In these reports, you'll find how our dedication to sustainable practices and social responsibility is creating tangible benefits for both people and the planet. Here are some key highlights:

People:

  • 145% Increase in Safety Observation Engagement: Worker feedback on safety has surged by 145%, tripling since our FY21 baseline.
  • 60-Hour Work Week Implemented at 9 Plants: We've implemented a maximum 60-hour work week at 9 of our 14 plants, promoting better work-life balance and adhering to international labour standards.
  • 72% of Suppliers Meet Ansell’s Standards: Currently, 72% of our finished goods suppliers and 69% of our raw material suppliers are rated 'A' or 'B' for labour, health, and safety, reflecting our commitment to high standards.
  • Increased Female Leadership:
    • 40% of managers (up to and including associate director level) are women.
    • 35% of directors (up to and including VP level) are women.
    • 22% of our executive leadership team are women.
    • 50% of our Board of Directors are women.
  • Community Engagement:
    • Monetary and PPE donations to areas of conflict and stricken by natural disasters.
    • Project Joy: Gloves designed for workers with differently shaped hands.
    • Australian Indigenous Program: Sold 380,000 pairs of gloves with proceeds supporting Indigenous community programs.
    • 600 pairs of flip-flops made from defective nitrile gloves were distributed to local communities.

Planet:

  • 14% Reduction in GHG Emissions: We achieved a 14% reduction in Scope 1 & 2 greenhouse gas emissions.
  • 31% Renewable Electricity Usage: We now use 31% renewable electricity across our manufacturing operations.
  • 99.8% Waste Diverted from Landfill: Nearly all our manufacturing waste is diverted from landfill, maintaining our zero-waste commitment.
  • 4 Plants Certified ISO 50001: Four of our plants are now certified to ISO 50001, demonstrating our commitment to energy management.
  • Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi): We have formally committed to setting science-based net-zero targets for our entire value chain.
  • Zero Waste to Landfill Certification: All 12 of our existing plants have maintained their Zero Waste to Landfill certification, with our two new plants in the process of certification.
  • 60% of New Products Designed with Reduced Environmental Impact: We continue to innovate, with 60% of our new and updated products designed to minimize environmental impact.
  • 97% of Industrial and 100% of Healthcare Packaging is Recyclable: We’ve made significant strides in packaging sustainability, with nearly all our packaging now recyclable.
  • 0.27% Decrease in Water Withdrawals: We’ve reduced our water withdrawals compared to the previous fiscal year.
  • 100% Sustainable Biomass in Sri Lanka: We continue to source 100% sustainable biomass for our high-pressure hot water generators in Sri Lanka.
