Ansell Limited (ASX:ANN), a global leader in protection solutions, today announces the appointment of Mrs. Leslie Desjardins as an independent non-executive Director and the departure of Mrs. Annie Lo as an independent non-executive Director, with effect on 30 November 2015.

Mrs. Desjardins was invited to join the Board and serve on the Audit and Compliance Committee and the RiskCommittee as part of the ongoing Ansell Board succession plan. Mrs. Desjardins has significant experience in corporate roles including Chief Financial Officer Amcor Limited; Chief Financial Officer General Motors Holden; and Controller General Motors North America. Mrs. Desjardins was formerly a director on the Board of AptarGroup (US) and currently serves on the Audit Committee of the Terry Fox Cancer Foundation in Canada.

In announcing the new appointment, Ansell’s Chairman, Mr. Glenn Barnes, said “We are tremendously excited to have Leslie join the Ansell Board. We believe that the depth of her business and financial experience will further strengthen our Board and enhance Board governance and oversight of the Company.”

Following her recent appointment as a director of Quintiles, Mrs. Lo has notified the company that she wishes to retire from the Ansell Board. Mrs. Lo joined the Ansell Board on 1 January 2013 and, in addition to her duties as an independent non-executive Director, was also a member of the Audit and Compliance Committee and the Risk Committee.
