SMART Pack Improves Customer Experience in the Busy Workplace and Reduces Environmental Footprint

14 March 2016, Iselin, NJ – Ansell, a global leader in protection solutions, is excited to share its new SMART Pack, revolutionizing the way Ansell packages gloves and providing a new, SMART solution to reinvent the end-user experience in the medical workplace.

For more than 50 years, Ansell has delivered the most innovative, technologically advanced protection solutions for the surgical environment around the globe. Ansell is now translating the innovative features of its products to its supply chain, packaging, and the way end-users interact with the product prior to using it.

Through this SMART Pack initiative, the same trusted Ansell product becomes even better – and smarter. The new SMART Pack has four smart touch points to improve the end-user experience. All of these improvements were validated by end-users in a number of countries where this initiative was recently introduced:

• SMART user-friendly functionality, improved product access, a smaller pouch, improved labeling, and lighter, easy to identify, cases.

• SMART modern design and descriptor-based names for quicker product identification, saving time and minimizing errors.

• SMART space saving with more compact dispensers, saving 25-54 percent shelf space in the O.R.

• SMART for the environment, with less plastic and cardboard waste, as well as reduced carbon footprint from less CO2 emissions.

In order to achieve this, Ansell has invested more than $13 million in state-of-the-art, custom built, packaging lines significantly increasing overall production capacity.

This new user-friendly SMART Pack is currently being rolled out globally in different stages. Starting with Europe, Australia, and the US, SMART Pack will be available in all hospitals where Ansell gloves are currently used by the end of 2017.
